This beautiful antique boxwood Henry Gunckel Clarinet identified as being from Paris (France) and manufactured in the key tone of "B". There are 4 main issues that I can identify with respect to the condition of the Clarinet. A) ... There is a small area of wood damage immediately adjacent to the metal on the bell end of the Clarinet. You can view the wood damage in the pictures provided. This definitely will not affect playability of the instrument, and I suspect it will not affect the tonal quality of the Clarinet either. Adding an appropriate wood filler would be a rather easy fix for the new buyer. B) This clarinet says Gunkel-Paris B on it, which on French and German instruments meant Bb in the 19th century, which is when this was made.
